On the meeting of the General Assembly of the Committee in Asharqia Chamber,
Prince of the Eastern Province: Patients Friends Committee is respectful model for the Eastern Province and the Kingdom.
Prince Saud bin Nayef, Honorary President of the Patients Friends Committee at the Asharqia Chamber, was presided the meeting of the General Assembly of 2018, with the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed Bin Fahad, and a large number of members of the Committee and the business sector in the region.
The meeting was also attended by the Director General of Health Affairs in the region, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Alsolouk, and the President of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Khalidi.
During the meeting, HH the Prince of the region stated, "I am fortunate for meeting with you today in the presence of this charitable model (Patients Friends Committee), which embodies our faith and belief principles. It is what our religion calls for and is superior to its value in the world and the hereafter. We are currently preparing ourselves for the reception of the holy month, which we ask God Almighty to help us to seize his days and nights in obedience and approach him, and to ask for his forgiveness and satisfaction with mercy, and that it would be a good month for us and our homeland and our Arab and Islamic nation."
He added, "The work of goodness is one of the things that Allah loves and asks us to do in order to win His blessings and paradise. The Prophet also urged the work of good, spreading it and rooting it into societies and committing to all that is connected to it. It is because that the good things raise the human and achieve compassion and solidarity and increase the cohesion and solidity of societies."
His Highness stressed that the charity work in its various channels has received generous support and increased interest from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, may God protect them, and become a cornerstone of the kingdom's future development.
He pointed out that the Patients Friends Committee is a purely charity that was aware of the need of the patients in this region, so it specialized in this field. This Committee is considered as a model for the Eastern Region and the Kingdom because of its impact in mobilizing efforts towards achieving compassion and solidarity and providing assistance to the patients in need, either by raising the moral status of them, to check their conditions and to pay attention to alleviate their pain or to provide the essentials for the hospitals in the region- including medical devices and equipment.
His Highness praised the efforts of the Committee by saying, "All of you have been present to give a hand in the growth and sustainability of this charitable work and contributed either by your money and your time in achieving the goals. We thank you all for your sincere efforts, which are behind this charitable work of supporting, planning and implementing its mission and achieving its vision, which reflects your keen interest in spreading the values of charitable work among the people of the Eastern Region."
In addition, he praised the initiative to establish a special center for cancer's patients in Al-Ahsa governorate that was donated by Hamad Bin Abdul Latif Al-Jaber, at a cost of 70 million riyals. He also thanked Abdullah Saad Al-Rashed, who donated to the establishment of a hospital in Al-Ahsa at a cost of 200 million riyals.
He thanked Abdulrahman Al-Suhaimi, who donated 12 million riyals to the establishment of a specialized center in the maternity and child hospital.
For his part, the Director General of Health Affairs in the region, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Alsolouk, praised the support and care accorded to the Committee by His Highness the Prince of the region. He said, "On behalf of myself and on behalf of my brothers-members of the Board of Directors of the Patients Friends Committee in the region-, I express my thanks and great gratitude to His Highness the Prince of the region and his Deputy and for the attention and care they give to all the work and activities of the Committee."
He clarified that the Committee was launched from great objectives, which are to share the concerns of patients of the eastern region through contributing to ending their suffering, alleviating their pain, and helping in treatment until they return healthy and participate in building and promoting their society.
He also pointed out that over decades, the Commission was extended as a solid institutional entity to be a catalyst for the business sector to donate and provide charity, and promotes the principles of public service among all members of society, as well as a realistic embodiment of the idea of social partnership between the public and private sectors. This partnership is now on the list of priorities of the vision of the Kingdom of 2030.
The Solouk emphasized that the businessmen's contributions in the region in 2017 increased to more than 6 million Saudi riyals, which enabled the committee to provide active contributions in order to achieve the objectives of last year's plan through providing assistance to patients according to their needs and providing some medical equipment and other supplies to the region's hospitals.
He thanked all the members of the Committee for their effective contribution to the implementation of projects and programs last year, and all those who maintain this social entity in support of communication between good people and patients in need.
He also thanked Asharqia Chamber, which has embraced the Patients Friends Committee since its beginning and has been and continues to sponsor it.
The Committee is in the process of presenting its mission to the needy patients of the Eastern Region, as they hope of God Almighty for more conciliation, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them -.
At the end of the meeting, the businessmen supporting the committee honored the Prince of the region and a number of journalists were honored too for supporting the programs and events of the Chamber.
